General And Preventive Dentistry

Preventive dentistry includes, early diagnosis and treatment which includes restorative dentistry and periodontal treatment. Decayed teeth can be restored with Filling, Onlay, Inlay, Root canal treatment and Post and core.

Filling

Carious part of the tooth is removed and the tooth is prepared to retain the filling material. Thus the tooth can be restored to its form and function. Various filling materials are available.

Root Canal Treatment

RCT is a treatment of saving the tooth after the damage has been caused by dental decay or infection, trauma or fracture of a tooth due to an injury, causing injury to the nerve and blood supply of the tooth.

Periodontal Disease

Bleeding or swollen gums, foul smelling, plaque and calculus deposits can be the signs of gum diseases. This can progress to mobilty of teeth.Periodontal treatment comprises of Dental prophylaxis and Scaling and Flap surgery in case of deep pockets.

Flap surgery

Flap procedure includes pulling back a section of gum to clean the roots of teeth and smoothening and reshaping of bone so that plaque has fewer places to grow.

Dental Surgical Procedures

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth are upper and lower third molars, located at the very corner/back of the the mouth. They come usually when a person is between 17&25 years older. Frequently there is not enough space for normal eruption for the as by the time they come, other teeth would have occupied the space in the dental arch. They are not easily cleansable hence lead to frequent food lodgement ,follwed by decay/infection/dental pain, Pain in surrounding gums, ear and headache, Pain on chewing, Swelling and Ulcers. Under these situations removal is completely helpful in preserving other teeth and structures and preventing further damage.

Oral Cancer
